Bridges, Tunnels, Pilings and Shoring

Bridges and tunneling projects are among the most complex and challenging construction projects. Carney Badley Spellman represents clients that are or have been involved in many of the largest bridge and tunnel projects in the Northwest.

We have exceptional experience in assisting contractors, subcontractors and design professionals to navigate RFP and bid processes, day-to-day challenges and changes to such projects, dispute resolution processes, claim notifications and, when necessary, litigation.

We have experience with all manner of:

  • bridge;
  • tunnel projects;
  • sewer and storm water overflow storage tunnels;
  • pipelines;
  • ocean crossing;
  • micro-tunneling/drilling;
  • directional drilling;
  • highway earthquake retrofits; and
  • large and deep-bore projects.

We can help guide you back to the surface on any legal issues a contractor or owner may run into on these complex projects.

Pile Driving and Shoring

We handle claims involving marine and pile-driving projects as well as matters involving construction and earth shoring. We have broad experience involving pile projects, including sheet pile cofferdams, both straight and z piles, pre-stressed concrete piles, soldier pile walls, caissons and numerous wood pile projects.

We have represented several of the biggest and best-known pile-driving contractors in the Northwest and have litigated numerous pile driving claims on behalf of contractors and public owners.  Carney’s attorneys have also represented contractors and design professionals in construction shoring projects including highrise foundation, earth movement, and heavy civil construction.
