Ashley specializes in complex litigation, public policy and election law, and appeals.
A creative legal mind at her core, Ashley represents clients in complex disputes across a wide range of industries and subject matters. She has litigated high-profile constitutional and public-policy issues, bet-the-company contract disputes, and complex securities and antitrust class actions in state and federal courts. She also regularly represents clients in administrative proceedings before agencies, boards, and other governmental bodies. This diverse experience has sharpened her ability to solve difficult legal problems and develop practical strategies tailored to each client’s goals.
Ashley has particular experience in constitutional and election law, where she advises and represents candidates, elected officials, governmental entities, and private parties in matters involving voting rights, ballot measures, elections administration, and constitutional challenges.
Ashley also loves appeals. An incisive writer and skilled oral advocate, Ashley clerked for Judge Ryan D. Nelson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. While in law school, she received the University of Chicago Law School’s Thomas R. Mulroy Prize in Oral and Appellate Advocacy. These experiences continue to inform and strengthen her appellate practice.
Every client—Ashley firmly believes—deserves a legal strategy tailored to their objectives. Whether representing a Fortune 500 company, a local business, a municipality, an investor, or an individual, she takes the time to understand each client’s story and communicate it effectively to judges, arbitrators, and decision-makers.
Outside the office, Ashley enjoys spending time with her dog, Freya, oil painting Mount Rainier, and tending her container garden. She is the Public Image Chair and serves on the Board of Directors for Seattle Rotary 4. She also serves on the Attorney Advisory Board for the Citizen Action Defense Fund and is a member of the Washington State Bar Association’s Judicial Recommendation Committee.
