Melvin Sorensen received the President’s Award for lifetime achievement and service to the WDTL at their 2022 annual convention.

The Washington Defense Trial Lawyers (WDTL) was formed in 1962 to provide a forum for civil defense litigators to discuss cases & legislation that directly affected their clients.  The mission then as it is today is to support balance and fairness for all in civil trials.  Moving beyond just insurance defense, WDTL members defend small and large businesses, individuals and other entities in the pursuit of justice.  Their mission is to promote the highest professional and ethical standards for Washington civil defense attorneys and to serve our members through education, recognition, collegiality, professional development, and advocacy.
