Lucinda Luke is a contract attorney in Carney’s labor and employment practice, representing both private and public employers in all aspects of federal and state employment law. She also counsels executive and professional-level employees in contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and other complex workplace matters. With more than 25 years of experience, Lucinda is committed to delivering strategic, practical guidance focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Lucinda regularly drafts and negotiates employment agreements, confidentiality and non-compete agreements, severance packages, and other employment-related contracts. She partners closely with employers to minimize risk by developing comprehensive employee handbooks and policies and advising on legally sound best practices for hiring, discipline, and termination.

Before joining Carney Badley Spellman in 2013, Lucinda served as the managing partner of a general practice law firm in the Tri-Cities, where she practiced for 16 years. She litigated labor and employment disputes in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, while also advising businesses and individuals on a broad range of workplace issues. In addition, she represented clients in municipal, business, and real estate matters, giving her a well-rounded perspective on the legal and operational challenges facing employers.

Her combination of litigation experience and business insight allows Lucinda to guide clients through high-stakes and sensitive situations with confidence and clarity. She is known for her conscientious, practical, and results-driven approach.  She measures success by resolving matters efficiently while securing results that protect her clients’ interests and advance their goals.

Lucinda became a shareholder with Carney Badley Spellman in 2015 and was a member of the board of directors before her retirement in 2023.  Lucinda returned to her legal practice as a contractor with the firm in 2025.
