Scott Davis is an AI, Data, and Operations executive with more than 28 years of experience helping professional‑services, technology, and SaaS organizations grow, modernize, and navigate transformational changes. As Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Carney Badley Spellman, Scott leads the firm’s finance, operations, AI strategy, data governance, system modernization, and performance programs. His focus is straightforward: build strong foundations, bring clarity to complex problems, and help attorneys and business teams operate with confidence and resilience.
Scott’s background blends CFO‑level depth in FP&A, forecasting, pricing, SaaS metrics, and financial systems with COO‑level leadership across operations, delivery, GTM alignment, and organizational scale. He’s spent much of his career at the intersection of AI, data engineering, and modern data governance, building and leading AI/ML and Data Engineering teams, deploying AI‑enabled financial and operational systems, and creating governance frameworks that improve reporting quality, decision‑making, and enterprise visibility. He enjoys the challenge of turning complicated systems into something people can actually use and understand.
Across multiple C‑Suite roles, including COO, CFO, CEO, and CDO, Scott has led global transformations across Finance, Operations, Strategy, and Technology. He has overseen multi‑system modernizations integrating ERP, EPM, BI, and data platforms; delivered predictive ML models used in Microsoft’s O365 predictive text functionality; and directed large‑scale data warehouse integrations, and modernization programs for organizations including Ford, BMW, T‑Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Microsoft, NASA, Reply, and The Channel Company.
Before joining Carney Badley Spellman, Scott founded Vistara, Inc., an AI‑enabled accounting operations and advisory startup, and served as COO of Hiline, where he unified delivery operations, client success, and KPI systems under a single data‑driven operating model. He also held global executive roles at The Channel Company and Reply, where he scaled teams, strengthened operational foundations, and guided organizations through periods of significant growth. Earlier in his career, Scott founded BluWater Consulting and grew it into an Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Company, earning multiple Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year nominations.
Scott was born and raised in Eastern Washington and moved to Seattle in 1995, where he spent more than two decades building his career, raising his family, and becoming deeply connected to the region’s technology and business community. In 2022, Scott and his wife Michelle moved to Bend, Oregon, embracing the mountain lifestyle, endless sunshine, and outdoor culture of Central Oregon. They returned to the Seattle area in 2026 when Scott joined Carney Badley Spellman, excited to build the next chapter of their life closer to family, friends, and the firm’s community.
Outside of work, Scott is passionate about fitness, strength training, hiking, camping, cooking, and music. He and Michelle love exploring the Pacific Northwest, discovering new trails, finding great food, and spending time with their blended family. Scott is happiest when he’s building something, companies, systems, teams, or a life rooted in connection, health, and outdoors.
Scott has served on multiple boards, including LIDO, WINTR, Decisive Data, EmployerHer, Cyemptive, and BluWater. He is a Microsoft Certified AI Business Professional and a Certified Advanced Intuit ProAdvisor. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science, with a minor in Computer Science, from Gonzaga University.
